Welcome to CBJ Creative! My name is Curtis Brownjohn, and I'm the guru with a camera who's here to help you capture and showcase your business, events and performances in South East Queensland and beyond.
I'm a tertiary educated filmmaker and photographer with extensive experience in the creative industry. Over the last decade I've filmed and photographed stadium sports, celebrity weddings, ARIA winning bands and a diversity of creative projects for many happy clients in South Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland. My contagious form of enthusiasm and passion for capturing the world around me gives my brand of storytelling an authentically heartfelt touch -- no matter the subject.

Can you do Drone Videography?
Yes. I love to give my video productions the god-mode touch and always have the latest in DJI aerial technology at my disposal. Let me know if you need a talented master of the sky to get you some stunning cinematic drone footage and/or photography for your project.
Can you do vertical video content creation?
If your priority is getting Vertical Video Content Creation for use on social media short-form platforms I can easily accommodate that. At the end of the day, Content Creation is about engaging storytelling and whether we're telling that story in portrait or landscape mode it's all good to me. There's nothing stopping me from shooting both vertical and horizontal content simultaneously, just let me know what you need for your project and I'll make it happen.
Do you also do newborn photography & family shoots?
Yes. There's nothing more pleasant than taking your family for a little portrait session on a weekend, or snapping some ethereal photos of your newborn in the comfort of your own home. While I don't usually promote this type of work for privacy reasons, I would be happy to craft you a beautiful photo gallery of your cherished people and video to go with it.
We like the vintage stuff, can you shoot Super 8 film?
Whether it's weddings, festivals or commercial projects — I love shooting on Super 8 film. I offer Vintage Super 8 Wedding Films as a standalone service or as an add-on to a Wedding Video & Photo Packages, and will never say no to bringing one of my super 8 cameras along to our shoot and capture some funky old school footage for the production. Let me know if you want to add some super 8 magic to your project and I can quote you for the film stock and transfer costs.
Can you do both videography and photography for us?
Absolutely. I am a seasoned pro at what we in the industry call 'hybrid shooting' which is the art of capturing both video footage and high-resolution photography. Whether it's tactfully switching between video and photo modes on my main camera or rolling video while taking photographs at the same time — I have a number of tricks up my sleeve to ensure I can cover your event, corporate project or performance in multiple formats. If the scale of your project requires some extra pizazz then I will subcontract a collection of talented creatives to help me shoot it.
How much money are we talking here?
Whether it's events, commercial or performance: my pricing really depends on the scale of your project and a few logistical factors. For example, if you're looking to commission a multi-camera recording of your performance then the cost will vary from $1k to $5k depending on how many camera angles you're needing and the humans that I'll need to help me operate them. Similarly for commercial projects, the wow-factor of the idea such as the number of shoot days, locations and talent we need to hire will all factor into the final costs. What's the turnaround time for final work?
This is a complicated question! The short answer is I never promise exact ETAs. I try to approach my post-production queue in the order to which it was shot, ensuring I give each and every video production and photo gallery that comes my way the meticious attention it deserves. The reality is that some projects will take precedence over others. A final gallery of wedding photos will not have the same urgent turnaround as a TVC or music video required for broadcast by a particular deadline. It really depends on your needs, my production schedule and the finer details of the project that we will agree on prior to shooting. I can assure you that I'm always working diligently to advance through my edit queue and I will keep you updated every step of the way.
